G Areminder that your professional
reputation is built over years, but trust can
disappear in a single decision. This is Maria
Khelli from TikTok The NPD
Recently, | learned that someone who was
involved in harassing me has also been
accused by another party of misrepresenting
their employment situation while working
remotely. The screenshots | received contain
allegations from that individual. These are
their claims, and | cannot independently
verify them.
At the same time, this experience reminded
me why integrity matters so much in our
industry.
As engineers, we are trusted with source
code, infrastructure, customer data, and
business-critical systems. Technical skills
can get you hired, but honesty is what keeps
that trust alive.
The tech community is surprisingly small.
People move between startups, big tech, and
research organizations. Your reputation often
arrives before your resume does.
Whether someone is a junior engineer or
works at a globally recognized company, the
same principles should apply:
Be honest with employers.
Respect your colleagues.
Never harass or intimidate others.
Build your career on competence, not
deception.
No matter how talented someone may be,
professionalism and integrity are qualities
that cannot be replaced.
hope everyone in our industry continues to
create workplaces where people are judged
by their work, character, and ethics.
di, Let’s build a healthier tech ecosystem
together.
