Ihave ADHD and Bipolar disorder on my medical record. | still got a Fit to Work certificate from my doctor. And this is what someone named Korika said to me after | shared that. “You can’t say: | have ADHD, sorry. You keep asking for pity and to be freed from counter- claims” “Young man, you need to learn a lot. Don’t get beaten up trying to fight the world. Because you are arrogant fighting the world.” “You can’t even fight yourself and you got hijacked and became reckless.” "Do you think with a fit to work letter you deserve to get a job at an office? HRDs are smart now, they study the track record of job candidates through their social media, Remember your Linkedin is seen by headhunters, it seems like there are agreements among them to avoid hiring you as an employee.” Let me be clear. Having ADHD and Bipolar disorder does not make someone weak, reckless, or unemployable. Alicensed doctor evaluated me and declared me fit to work. That is a medical and legal document. Not an opinion. Not a debate. What Korika described, headhunters coordinating to blacklist someone based on a mental health diagnosis, is not a career tip. It is discrimination. | am not ashamed of my diagnosis. | am not asking for pity. | am asking for the same dignity every professional deserves. To every person with ADHD, Bipolar, or any neurodivergent condition reading this: your brain works differently, not defectively. A diagnosis is not a disqualification. And to anyone who uses mental health against someone as a weapon: that says everything about your character, and nothing about theirs. | will keep building. | will keep showing up, Not despite my diagnosis, but with full awareness of who | am.
